Composite Wing

This is a composite wing I built to test the construction method. It is built similar to a sail plane wing with foam ribs. I used a fiberglass skin that is pre-laminated to a foam sheet to create the majority of the panels, which greatly sped up construction. The finished wing for a single place airplane weighed only 18 lbs, and withstood 3g's of loading before the jig I built to conduct the load test broke.
